SSP Internship Program
Skolfield Sports Performance offers internship opportunities for college interns for Spring 2026, Summer 2026, and Fall 2026 semesters.
Position Summary
The Sports Performance Internship program aims to provide interns with a comprehensive experience in the field of strength & conditioning. Interns will be exposed to many aspects of athletic development including multi directional speed, strength, power, mobility, nutrition, and much, much more. Under the supervision of the Skolfield Performance team, interns will have the opportunity to participate in coaching a variety of high school, collegiate, and professional athletes.
Hands on learning experiences are complimented with our weekly Internship In-Service Program, which focuses on continuing education in a classroom-style learning environment. SSP staff works closely with our internship participants to develop coaching, assessment and program-design skill sets.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in an Exercise Science, Athletic Training, or Health Fitness Major
- Entering Junior or Senior year of college
- Completed concepts of Strength and Conditioning or related coursework
- Ability to commit to approximately 20 hours per week for 14 weeks.
- Hours vary based on time of year but include a variety of times including early mornings, and evening hours. At times during the sports seasons, we are open as early as 6am and as late as 8PM.
- GPA/Academic Standards: >3.0 GPA in Major
- CPR/AED Certification required
Expectations:
- Be competent teaching foam roll, dynamic warm-up & flexibility drills
- Demonstrate a knowledge of training and spotting techniques
- Be eager to learn and accepting of constructive criticism
- Perform special projects as deemed by Skolfield Performance staff.
- Must be comfortable communicating with clients, parents, and staff
